TakingITGlobal (TIG) is an international charitable organization led by youth and empowered by technology. Often described as a "social network for social good," the award winning www.tigweb.org is available in twelve languages and offers a diverse set of educational resources and action tools intended to inspire, inform and involve. Since launching in 2000, 20 million people have accessed the website to learn, grow and realize their potential.
Established in 2006, TakingITGlobal’s program for educators, TIGed, offers a community of over 4,000 globally minded educators in over 110 countries worldwide, a growing database of global education resources, a virtual classroom platform that allows for the use of social media tools in a secure environment, and professional development e-courses related to global education and project-based learning. By enhancing global citizenship while improving technology and media literacy skills, TIGed is bringing the world to students and preparing students for an increasingly globalized future.
THINK Global School (TGS) is the world's first traveling boarding school. Going beyond a study abroad program, TGS transplants the entire student body, faculty and administration to a new country each semester. The four year high school program empowers students with a once-in-a-lifetime international experience while studying a rigorous curriculum. The coursework follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, with a culmination in the IB examination at the end of year four. Throughout their studies, TGS students visit significant historical, cultural, and scientific sites; all while building new skills and relationships on a global scale.
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) represents educators globally in improving learning and teaching through the effective use of technology.
ISTE is an ongoing supporter and partner of Flat Classroom Conference and Live Events Inc. At the original conference in 2009 ISTE led the Leadership Workshop and ran sessions on leading for the use of technology in the classroom as well as looking at standards across the curriculum in technology for students, teachers and administrators.
